Spring Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano

This work is a conversation among equals. Flute and cello are given more melodic roles, as is their nature. Piano is supportive but also joins in the conversation. They speak of hope, joy, deep reflections, humor, and the flow of life.

It was composed in the midst of springtime, with life transforming from grey to green, and the forces of nature, both strong and gentle, in evidence. The sounds of nature are heard through open windows. Not every day is sunny, but the birds are back, the frogs are chorusing and the pond is overflowing.
